الماضي المستمر Past Continuous في الإنجليزية
الماضي المستمر (Past Continuous) يستخدم للتعبير عن حدث كان مستمراً في وقت محدد في الماضي. يتكون من was/were + verb-ing.
التركيب:
Subject + was/were + verb-ing + complement
- I was reading a book at 8 PM.
- They were playing football yesterday afternoon.
متى نستخدم Past Continuous؟
1. حدث كان مستمراً في وقت محدد في الماضي
- Yesterday at 8 PM, I was watching TV. (البارحة في الثامنة كنت أشاهد التلفاز)
- This time last week, we were traveling to London. (في هذا الوقت الأسبوع الماضي كنا مسافرين)
- At 10 AM, she was having a meeting. (في العاشرة صباحاً كانت في اجتماع)

Past Simple: حدث كامل وانتهى
Past Continuous: حدث كان مستمراً
- I watched a movie last night. (شاهدت فيلماً كاملاً)
