نستخدم there is و there are للقول أن شيئاً موجود أو غير موجود في مكان ما. هذا التركيب من أكثر التراكيب استخداماً في الإنجليزية اليومية — ستستخدمه لوصف المكان، الحديث عن الموارد، الإعلان عن وجود شيء، وغيرها الكثير.
القاعدة الأساسية

📌 القاعدة: There is + مفرد/غير معدود — There are + جمع
📌 ملاحظة: there is/there are لا تترجم إلى "هناك" حرفياً — التركيب يعني "يوجد/توجد"
There is — للمفرد وغير المعدود
There is + اسم مفرد / اسم غير معدود + مكان
- There is a cat in the garden. — هناك قطة في الحديقة.
- There is a supermarket near my house. — يوجد سوبرماركت قرب منزلي.
- There is a hospital in this street. — يوجد مستشفى في هذا الشارع.
- There is a big tree behind the school. — توجد شجرة كبيرة خلف المدرسة.
- There is a pharmacy next to the bank. — توجد صيدلية بجانب البنك.
الأسماء غير المعدودة (Uncountable Nouns):
مع الأسماء التي لا تعد، نستخدم دائماً there is:
- There is some water in the fridge. — يوجد بعض الماء في الثلاجة.
- There is milk in the cup. — يوجد حليب في الكأس.
- There is sugar in the bowl. — يوجد سكر في الوعاء.
- There is traffic on the road. — هناك زحام على الطريق.
- There is money in my wallet. — يوجد مال في محفظتي.
أسماء غير معدودة شائعة: water, milk, sugar, salt, money, time, traffic, information, advice, furniture, weather, news, bread, rice, cheese, butter, coffee, tea, juice, oil, soup, cream, jam, honey, air, smoke, rain, snow, sunshine, thunder, lightning, luck, happiness, love, peace, patience, courage, intelligence, education, homework, work, music, art, poetry, literature, health, fitness, beauty, darkness, light, space, heat, cold, weather
There are — للجمع
There are + اسم جمع + مكان
- There are two cats in the garden. — هناك قطتان في الحديقة.
- There are many restaurants near here. — يوجد العديد من المطاعم قرب هنا.
- There are five students in the class. — يوجد خمسة طلاب في الفصل.
- There are some books on the shelf. — توجد بعض الكتب على الرف.
- There are several parks in this city. — توجد عدة حدائق في هذه المدينة.
نصيحة: there is مع القوائم:
عند ذكر عدة أشياء، إذا كان أولها مفرداً، يمكن استخدام there is:
- There is a book, two pens, and a notebook on the desk.
لكن القاعدة الأكثر أماناً: استخدم there are إذا كان هناك أكثر من شيء واحد، خاصةً إذا بدأت بجمع:
- There are a book, two pens, and a notebook on the desk. (أيضاً صحيح)
النفي — There isn't / There aren't
لنفي وجود شيء، نستخدم there isn't (is not) أو there aren't (are not):
- There isn't a bank near here. — لا يوجد بنك قرب هنا.
- There isn't any milk in the fridge. — لا يوجد حليب في الثلاجة.
- There aren't any eggs in the fridge. — لا يوجد بيض في الثلاجة.
- There aren't any students in the classroom. — لا يوجد طلاب في الصف.
- There isn't a swimming pool in this hotel. — لا يوجد مسبح في هذا الفندق.
مع النفي، نستخدم غالباً any:

⚠️ any = أي (تستخدم في النفي والأسئلة) some = بعض (تستخدم في الإثبات)
الأسئلة — Is there? / Are there?
لتكوين سؤال، نضع is أو are قبل there:
- Is there a pharmacy near here?
- Yes, there is. / No, there isn't.
- Are there any good restaurants in this area?
- Yes, there are. / No, there aren't.
- Is there any sugar in the cupboard?
- Yes, there is. / No, there isn't.
أسئلة مع How many:
- How many students are there in your class? — كم طالباً في صفك؟
- How many rooms are there in your house? — كم غرفة في منزلك؟
- How much sugar is there in the box? — كم سكر في الصندوق؟
خطأ شائع مع الإجابات المختصرة:
عند الإجابة عن سؤال بـ Is there?، يجب أن تكرر there is/there isn't.

- ❌ Yes, it is. (خطأ — it is للإشارة إلى شيء محدد، there is لوجود شيء)

There is / There are في الماضي
للتحدث عن وجود شيء في الماضي، نستخدم there was (مفرد) و there were (جمع):

- There wasn't a supermarket in this area. — لم يكن هناك سوبرماركت في هذه المنطقة.
جمل يومية مع There is / There are:
- There is a restaurant next to the hotel. — يوجد مطعم بجانب الفندق.
- There are four bedrooms in the house. — توجد أربع غرف نوم في المنزل.
- There is some coffee in the pot. — يوجد بعض القهوة في الإبريق.
- There aren't any tickets left. — لا توجد تذاكر متبقية.
- Is there a wifi connection here? — هل يوجد اتصال واي فاي هنا؟
- There were many people at the party. — كان هناك الكثير من الناس في الحفلة.
- There was a loud noise outside. — كان هناك ضجيج عالٍ في الخارج.
- How many chairs are there in this room? — كم كرسياً في هذه الغرفة؟
- There isn't enough time to finish. — لا يوجد وقت كافٍ للانتهاء.
- There is a new movie at the cinema. — يوجد فيلم جديد في السينما.
